What quality controls are your
protein products subject to? All of our proteins are assessed for purity and correct molecular weight by SDS PAGE. The content of bacterial stimulants of TLR2 and TLR4 (lipopeptides and lipopolysaccharides / endotoxins) is also assessed by a callibrated HEK-293 TLR transfection reporter assay. For many of our proteins, additional tests are performed to validate correct function / bioactivity of the protein (e.g. ELISA for antigens, TLR5 signalling for flagellin proteins, LPS sensitisation for sCD14). Do your protein products contain a carrier protein? No, we use trehalose as a cryoprotectant during lyophilisation of our proteins. Customers may add carrier proteins, such as bovine serum albumin, after resuspension if they wish to extend the stability and shelf-life of the product. How do you ship your protein products? Our recombinant proteins are shipped lyophilised at ambient temperature. How should I reconstitute a lyophilised protein? We recommend resuspension of the proteins in sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS). Please refer to the technical data sheet that ships with each protein to find the volume recommended for resuspension. Are you able to prepare bespoke protein products? Yes, we are happy to discuss preparation of bespoke proteins, particularly in the space of recombinant flagellin fusion proteins for vaccine research. Please see here for further information. |
